myTXT is a web-application which comprises of an extremely large set of features. The following is a brief summary of what you can expect to find within the system. A detailed myTXT feature document can be downloaded by clicking here.

SMS Messages

SMS to Groups, numbers or Contacts

myTXT enables you to import your contacts to the system. These contacts can then be organized in groups. You are be able to send messages to these contacts or groups by simply typing the first part of the contact or group name into an autocomplete field, and select the contacts or groups from a list.

Personalized Bulk SMS

myTXT can also send personalized bulk messages. By substituting certain values of an SMS message with a replaceable tag, the system will replace the value of a contact with the corresponding tag before the message is sent.

Recipient Can Reply to SMS

myTXT allows for recipients to reply to messages received from myTXT. Any replies appear in the sender’s ‘Inbox’ on the system, with the mobile number, the reply message and a timestamp as reference.

Delivery Reports

All messages that were sent have a delivery report that can be viewed in the ‘Sent’ view. This allows for quick checking whether a message has been delivered to a recipient's handset.

Same Originating Number With Every SMS

When a myTXT user sends an SMS message for the first time after signing up, the user gets assigned a specific tag number. This number is unique to each myTXT user.

The result is that every message that is sent by the specific user originates from the same number. If a user sends messages to the same recipient regularly, the recipient can save the originating number as a contact to be able to identify the sender.

Import CSV file for Very Large SMS Batches

myTXT allows for the importing of comma separated value (CSV) files as an alternative for sending very large batches of SMS messages. The CSV file should contain the mobile number of the recipient and a message to be sent to the recipient.

The columns of the CSV file can be in any order as mapping of fields are done during the importing process. The import process also allows for a header row to be removed, and the user has the option of removing duplicates before sending.

Download messages to CSV for admin and backup purposes

Any list of messages (the Inbox or the Sent items) can be exported as a CSV file and downloaded by the user. It can then be used for record keeping or backup purposes. Messages can also be downloaded as XLS files for use in Microsoft Excel.

SMS with attachments

One of the unique features that myTXT offers is the sending of SMS messages with attachments. This allows for any file to be sent to the recipient’s mobile phone.

To use this feature, the user would upload up to three files to the system. The myTXT system would then host the uploaded file and create a shortened link (URL) to the file. The short links are then included in the SMS message.

When a recipient receives the message, he/she will be able to follow the link included in the message to download the file and open it on their mobile phone. Compatibility with various file-types are currently dependent on the type of phone that the recipient use, but most new phones have the ability to open PDF documents such as bank statements, Word documents, presentations, audio clips (MP3), images, etc

Contacts

Import Contacts From CSV or VCARD to Website

New contacts can either be created one at a time from the web interface, or the import functionality can be used. The myTXT website supports importing of contacts from either comma separated value (CSV) files or from VCARD files.

The fields in the CSV file can be in any order as the user has the ability of assigning or mapping the fields during the import process.

Contact Groups

myTXT allows the user to create new contact groups with descriptive names. Contacts can then be added to these groups to allow for bulk sending to that specific group. Adding contacts to groups are done from a user friendly drag-and-drop interface on the web-based system.

Shared and Private Contacts

Any contacts that are added can be shared with the rest of the users in the company. This allows for a company wide database of contacts which can be used by any other user.

Existing contacts can easily be shared with a company by changing the Type of Contact field from Private to Shared.

Custom Fields for Contacts

Contacts can contain up to five custom fields. These custom fields can be used for own reference or for customized messaging.
